The official Twitter account for Futsū no Joshikōsei ga Locodol Yattemita (Locodol) television anime unveiled three new characters on Saturday. The new cast members are, from left to right in the image above, Emi Nitta (Love Live!'s Honoka) as Miyako Mima, Asami Imai (The IDOLM@STER's Chihaya) as Aoi Anami, and Tomoyo Kurosawa (Aikatsu!'s Otome) as Tsubasa Tsurugi. The three will be part of a Locodol group called AWA2GiRLS.
In the story, high school girl Nanako became her town's local idol at the request of her uncle. She and her upperclassman Yukari, a girl who seems perfect but ends up being airheaded, both become idols of their provincial area. They get interviewed (by the town's shopping center), go on television (low-budget cable), and hold concerts (on the roof of the department store). The girls' salaries come from the town's taxes.
Crunchyroll is streaming the series as it airs in Japan. The first home video release will include an OVA episode. In the episode's story, Nanako and the others play beach volleyball against AWA2GiRLS.
