Anime Boston to Host City Hunter: Shinjuku Private Eyes Anime Film's Staff

The Anime Boston convention announced on Monday that it will host the City Hunter: Shinjuku Private Eyes anime film's chief director Kenji Kodama, producer Naohiro Ogata, and scriptwriter Yoichi Kato at this year's event.

Kodama directed most of the previous City Hunter anime. Kodama began his career at Tokyo Movie in 1970 and then worked for Sunrise in the 1980s. Beginning in the mid-1990s, he directed the television series and films for the first six years of the Detective Conan anime franchise. He directed television anime such as Kekkaishi and Tales of the Abyss in the 2000s. Kodama considers action series to be his specialty.
Ogata joined Sunrise in 1997. He has produced anime such as Mobile Suit Gundam NT, Mobile Suit Gundam UC, InuYasha: The Final Act, Kekkaishi, and Tales of the Abyss.
Before working in anime, Ogata wrote scripts for documentary, news, and music programs. He has written scripts for anime such as Yo-kai Watch, Aikatsu!, and Space Brothers. Ogata also worked with Kodama on Kekkaishi and Tales of the Abyss.
This year's Anime Boston will take place at the Hynes Convention Center in Boston from April 19-21. The first Japanese guest announced for this year's event was composer Yoko Shimomura.
