The official website for ForwardWorks' Sora to Umi no Aida (Between the Sky and Sea) smartphone game announced on Tuesday that the game will end service on May 7. The game has already stopped the sale of its in-game currency.
The smartphone game debuted in Japan in September 2017, and later debuted in Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macau.
The Between the Sky and Sea franchise is ForwardWorks' first original IP and also includes a radio program, manga, television anime, novel, and stage performances. Sakura Wars creator Ouji Hiroi is credited with the original work and is serving as general manager for the project.
The anime premiered last October. Sentai Filmworks has licensed the anime for streaming and home video. Crunchyroll streamed the anime as it aired. HIDIVE is also streaming the series.
Bekkōrico launched the manga in Monthly Comic Dengeki Daioh in its November 2017 issue, and ended it last November. The manga's second compiled book volume shipped in December.
Masashi Takimoto wrote the Sora to Umi no Aida Hajimari no Monogatari (Between the Sky and Sea Origin Story) novel that Dengeki Game Bunko published last June.
