Job recruitment site Wantedly has posted a job listing to recruit animators, animation directors, and directors for a production studio that is part of the Japanese division of the Chinese video sharing website bilibili. The listing states that the studio is located in the Ningyōchō area of Tokyo.
The listing adds that the new production studio will create original content to stream on bilibili, and will aim to create three anime per year, starting with a television anime series.
The listing also states that bilibili has already worked on the Restaurant to Another World, Infini-T Force, and Urahara anime series, although the listing added the division outsourced work until now since it has no in-house animators.
bilibili was founded in 2009, and is China's largest streaming platform for Japanese animation, above Tencent Video and iQIYI. The company streams anime titles and also invests in anime productions. The website also includes Chinese animation and user-uploaded content. The service collects both advertising revenue and pay-per-view subscription charges. The job listing states that the site has 150 million users worldwide.
