Fuji TV announced on Friday that its semiannual Yo nimo Kimyō na Monogatari (Tales of the Unusual) television program will adapt Motoki Koide's Irium manga into a live-action special that will air on May 12 at 9:00 p.m. The special is titled "Ashita e no Warp" (Warp Toward Tomorrow).
Haruma Miura (left in picture below) will play Mineo Kobayashi, the protagonist. Yui Sakuma will play Yūki Sudō, Mineo's girlfriend. Kazuyuki Aijima (right in picture below) will play Kimiyasu Udō, the psychiatrist who gives Mineo a prescription for the Irium medicine. Wataru Yasue is penning the episode's script.
The original manga's story centered around the titular drug Irium, which allows people to experience a single day's worth of time without remembering it afterward. In this way, people are able to control what they wish to remember.
Koide published the manga in Kodansha's Morning magazine in 2014. Kodansha published one compiled book volume for the manga.
