The official website for the anime adaptation of Waka Kakitsubata's Akkun to Kanojo (Akkun and His Girlfriend) manga began streaming the show's promotional video on Friday.
The site also revealed that Haruna Ōshima will perform the show's opening theme song "Koi no Balloon" (Love's Balloon). The single for the song will ship on April 29.
The show will have five-minute episodes, and was originally slated to premiere in Japan on April 9 on Tokyo MX, but will now premiere first on AT-X on April 6 at 10:30 p.m. before airing on Tokyo MX.
The show stars:
Ayaka Suwa as Non "Nontan" Katagiri, the patient and tolerant girlfriend of Akkun. She is oblivious to most of Akkun's actions, almost to a point of willful ignorance, but in truth, she actually loves Akkun.
Keisuke Ueda as Masago Matsuo, Akkun's friend who knows his true nature, but still hangs out with him. He likes to play gal games.
Arisa Kōri as Chiho Kagari, Akkun's little sister, who is in her rebellious phase. She puts up an act when her brother Akkun's beloved Non-chan is present.
Shin Katagai (Neo Angelique Abyss) is directing the anime at Yumeta Company. Yuka Yamada (Aikatsu!, Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid) is in charge of series composition. Motohiro Taniguchi (Yuruyuri Nachu Yachumi!) is designing the characters.
The romantic comedy follows the everyday life of an extremely tsundere (initially aloof and abrasive, but later kind-hearted) boy named Atsuhiro "Akkun" Kagari and his girlfriend Non "Nontan" Katagiri. Akkun's behavior is harsh towards Nontan with verbal abuse and neglect, but he actually is head-over-heels for her and habitually acts like a stalker by tailing her or eavesdropping. Nontan is oblivious to Akkun's stalker ways, and thinks his actions are cute.
