Viz's Shonen Jump to Preview Jujutsu Kaisen Manga
posted on by Karen Ressler
Viz Media's digital English edition of Weekly Shonen Jump announced on Monday that it will publish "another round of Jump Starts" starting with Gege Akutami's Jujutsu Kaisen next Monday. The manga will launch on the same day in Shueisha's Japanese edition.
The magazine teases a dark fantasy story that involves cleansing curses with sorcery. Shonen Jump previously published Akutami's "Nikai Bongai Barabarujura" one-shot as part of its "Gold Future Cup" contest for up-and-coming artists in 2016.
For its "Jump Start" initiative, Viz Media's Shonen Jump publishes the first three chapters of a new manga simultaneously with the Japanese release.
Two other manga will debut in the Japanese edition of Shonen Jump in March: Haruto Ikezawa's Noahs Notes and Kentarō Hidano's Ziga. Viz has not yet confirmed that it will preview both titles.
