posted on by Jennifer Sherman
Arc System Works began streaming a full English trailer for its new Double Dragon IV game on Friday. The video previews the continuation of Billy and Jimmy Lee's story after the defeat of the Black Warriors in Double Dragon II.
The game will launch digitally on PlayStation 4 on January 30 and PC via Steam on January 31 for 800 yen (about US$6.83) in Japan. The game's North American release will be on the PlayStation 4 via PlayStation Network on January 29 and on PC via Steam on January 30. Arc System Works stated in December that the game's price in U.S. Dollars is still undetermined.
The game celebrates the franchise's 30th anniversary. The story will begin after the elimination of the Shadow Warriors in 1988's Double Dragon II: The Revenge. Arc System Works describes the game:
Billy and Jimmy Lee are back and they've brought the 80's with them except the battlefield has moved to Japan!
Kakaomi Kaneko is producing the game, Yoshihisa Kishimoto is directing, Koji Ogata is designing the characters, Kazunaka Yamane is composing the music, and Kei Oyama is programming.
Arc System Works announced in 2015 that it had acquired the rights to Double Dragon and a number of other Technos Japan games.
