Dragon's Dogma Online Game Gets Manga Series
posted on by Rafael Antonio Pineda
CAPCOM launched a manga adaptation of its Dragon's Dogma Online game in the February issue of Kodansha's Bessatsu Shōnen Magazine on Saturday. Yumiya Tashiro is drawing the series, titled Dragon's Dogma Revives. The first 74-page chapter has a color opening page (seen below).
The story begins at a small village west of the capital, and centers on childhood friends Yugo and Tenia. While Yugo focuses on being an herbalist, Tenia is a hunter. A force of Arisen knights passes through their town in search of more Arisen to join their ranks. Tenia reveals that she is an Arisen and wants to travel with them.
CAPCOM's Dragon's Dogma game series already inspired Hirotoshi Hirano's Dragon's Dogma Progress manga, which ran in Hakusensha's online manga website Young Animal Densi from 2013 to 2014. Hakusensha published two compiled book volumes for the series.
Dragon's Dogma shipped for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in May 2012, and the Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen expanded and enhanced version shipped in April 2013. The PC version debuted in January 2016. Dragon's Dogma Online launched on the PS3, PS4, and PC in August 2015.
