Marvelous also began streaming a promotional video featuring Junichi Sawabe as Matthew Calbraith Perry Jr. last week. His character is new to the game series along with J (John Manjirō) as played by vistlip's Yuh. Both are members of the United States Navy.
A "new" character was also teased during an Akihabara cafe event in August.
The game will ship in Japan on September 25, and a limited number of first-run copies will include a drama CD titled "Gakuen Rock Cli! Max! Senkyo Battle" (Academy Rock Climax! Election Battle). The game will get an "Ultra Soul Box" limited edition release bundled with an OVA episode titled "Mystery! Onsen de Kaijiken ze yo!!" (Mystery! Myserious event at the Hot Springs!!).
The original Bakumatsu Rock game shipped for the PlayStation Portable in February. The game's anime adaptation premiered in July. Sentai Filmworks licensed the series and Crunchyroll is streaming the series as it airs.
