The Halloween Kid Story Book Gets Animated Special by Sanzigen
posted on by Karen Ressler
SANZIGEN Animation Studio is producing and animating a special based on the American story book The Halloween Kid by Rhode Montijo, which will be released this fall. Montijo will direct and draw the characters himself, and Jamie Baker will write the screenplay. A Japanese artist will help with the backgrounds, and David Choe and Good Smile Company are also involved in the project. The special will be about 30 minutes long.
Simon & Schuster Books for Young Readers published the original The Halloween Kid book in 2010. The 40-page book was targeted for ages three to eight.
SANZIGEN is one of three studios, along with Trigger and Ordet, that comprise the joint holding company Ultra Super Pictures. SANZIGEN co-produced Black Rock Shooter and 009 Re:Cyborg, and has produced Wooser's Hand-to-Mouth Life and the upcoming Arpeggio of Blue Steel. The studio was formally incorporated by former Gonzo employees in 2006 as a studio for computer animation.
