Anime North Honors Protoculture's Claude Pelletier with Momiji Award

Anime North is hosting Protoculture Addicts magazine founder and editor-in-chief Claude Pelletier at the May 23-25 convention in Toronto, Canada, and it also honoring him with a Momiji Award. Past recipients of the Momiji Award have included Frank Miller (2003), Hayao Miyazaki (2004), and Gō Nagai (2006). Pelletier also published a science-fiction fanzine, several French science-fiction anthologies, the Mecha Press magazine, and the Anime: A Guide To Japanese Animation reference. The company Protoculture (formerly known as Ianus Publications) went on to release comics and even delved into home video with the North American French tapes of Escaflowne. Protoculture Addicts is now a sister publication of ANN.
