Danbō & tsuritama's Kuricorder Quartet perform "E.T" theme on recorders
Danbō, the cardboard robot suit from Kiyohiko Azuma's Yotsuba&! manga, invokes a famous scene from Steven Spielberg's film E.T.:
The stop-motion television ad promotes Geneon Universal's Collector's Edition Blu-ray Disc of the film. Kuricorder Quartet, the musical act heard in other Danbō shorts as well as in tsuritama and other anime, even performed John Williams' "E.T" theme on recorders. The Collector's Edition went on sale in Japan on November 2.
Danbō faced its gravest threat when it also starred in Geneon Universal's first crossover ad for the Collector's Edition Blu-ray Disc release of Spielberg's Jaws film in Japan in August:
