Dx2 Shin Megami Tensei: Liberation iOS and Android game producer Riichirō Yamada announced in a video on Monday that the game is slated to launch mid-January. According to Yamada, the staff are making final adjustments to the quality based on the results of beta tests.
Sega Games and Atlus will release the game worldwide following an initial release in Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macau. Pre-registration for the game launched in Japan on November 10, and a campaign is offering in-game rewards depending on how many people pre-register.
The game will offer demon fusion and negotiations in 3D dungeons. The game will also have an augmented-reality feature that will launch after the game's launch. An earlier preview video showed a Shin Megami Tensei demon appearing in the "real world" through a smartphone camera.
Makoto Fukami (Berserk 2016, Psycho-Pass) is writing the scenario and Tatsurō Iwamoto (Ace Attorney games, Monster Strike the Animation) is designing the characters. The story follows a group of "Liberators" who battle against a mysterious organization called the Acolytes in the streets of Akihabara.
